End of Season Tournament Report
Phew!!, what a climax
to the 2009 – 2010 Primary Schools basketball tournament
programme.
Following the success of the Girls only tournaments
staged last academic year, this season saw a very close
finish with two schools locked in a very close tussle
to decide the eventual tournament champions.
Basket difference decided the winners in the end
with Christ The King coming up as the winners after pipping
Grange Farm on basket difference.
Christ The King Catholic Junior School girls will
be presented with the Subway trophy and individual medals
at a special presentation to be arranged at a later date.
The mixed tournament programme saw four tournaments
take place with Whitmore Park Primary School winning
two tournaments, Coundon Primary School and St. Gregory’s
winning one tournament each but the overall tournament
champions are St Gregory’s Catholic Primary School.
St. Gregory’s Catholic Primary School came through
with a very consistent display throughout all of the
tournaments winning one tournament and finishing amongst
the higher places in all of the other three tournaments.
Whitmore Park Primary School finished
as runners up.
St. Gregory’s will receive the
Fyffes Basketball Cup and individual medals at a special
presentation to be arranged at a later date. Watch out
