Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air Ambulance.
The Charity started on 1st October 2003.
In its first three years it attended nearly 4,000 missions
and to date over 7,000. It is the U.K’s largest and fastest
Air Ambulance and is currently one of a few charities to fly
with a Doctor on board.
From its base at Coventry Airport the
helicopter can reach anywhere in Warwickshire in seven minutes.
The charity receives no funding from the Government, NHS or
National Lottery which is why Fastbreak Basketball are
proud to be supporting Warwickshire and Northamptonshire Air
Ambulance.
Did you know it costs £1.4 million per year (that’s £4k
a day) to keep the helicopter flying and is entirely funded
by donations? They want to raise £2 Million to start flying
longer shifts/night time.
The crew fly 7 days a week operating
during daylight hours. With your support the Charity could
extend it’s flying hours even longer.
They
have a fab web site www.wnaa.co.uk listing
the many different ways everyone can support them which is
constantly updated.
